No-interest loan scheme for artists and practitioners re-launched
QuickstART is a no interest loan scheme for individual artists and creative practitioners; ideal for project and professional development. Originally created by Positive Solutions and Brian Tucker, the fund has supported over 40 individual artists and cultural enterprises over the last few years with $90,000 of microloans. Foresters Community Finance now manages the QuickstART Fund on our behalf. Please click here for details on the fund.

Centre Opening in Katherine
The long awaited Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre finally opened in Katherine on 14 July. Positive Solutions has been involved with the community planning for this centre for over the past 10 years, and Director Cathy Hunt was there to be a part of the special occasion.

Craft South
Congratulations to the team at Craft South in securing triennial funding from the Australia Council for the Arts. Cathy Hunt worked with the organisation on the preparation of their three year business plan 

Creative³ – Brisbane 13-14 September
Creative³ International Forum 2012 will focus on the three fundamental elements of creativity, enterprise and investment, while attention will be directed to the real issues faced by creatives and the latest trends and technologies to advance growth. Positive Solutions will again be sponsoring the event through providing support for bursaries  in 2012. For further information visit their website

Conferences

Director David Fishel is presenting a session at the Chartered Secretaries Australia Not-for-Profit Discussion Groups on 12 September in Brisbane and was also a guest speaker at the Not for Profits Governance Forum in Sydney in August.

Cathy Hunt will be participating in re.volution Hack Day: Asset Identification & Development, a workshop with Mission Models Money in the UK on 13 September. Check out the Mission Models Money site for some great resources.

Cathy will also be participating in a panel session at this years Regional Arts Australia National Conference, which takes place in Goolwa, South Australia from 18-21 October on the theme of resilience and the arts.

A state-wide audit of cultural facilities to assist future planning and policy development.  This follows similar audits we have undertaken for the Queensland and New South Wales Governments.
