CATHY HUNT IN GRIFFITH REVIEW

Positive Solutions Co-Director Cathy Hunt contributed the following articles to recent issues of the Griffith Review:

The Way Things Work Round Here

In the Cultural Solutions issue of the Griffith Review, Cathy’s article, ‘The Way Things Work Round Here’, appears in the Cultural Solutions issue of the Griffith Review. It tells the story of the development of the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre in Katherine, Northern Territory, and its impact on this small, remote, yet culturally and strategically important town. Cultural Solutions explores new ways people are working together and solving social problems that governments and other organisations have struggled with.

Beyond the Smell of an Oily Rag

Cathy’s article ‘Beyond the Smell of an Oily Rag’ considers a new way of thinking about financing cultural production. To quote the opening paragraph:

“There is a need for a significant paradigm shift in how we support and grow the cultural sector. If the potential economic output of this sector is to be realised this change is urgent and provides an opportunity for Australia to provide global leadership.”
