About the webinar

This one-hour webinar explores how boards can best support fundraising while maintaining clear governance boundaries.

Non-profit organisations are operating in an increasingly competitive and complex funding environment. Many boards and executives grapple with the same question: what is the board’s role in fundraising, and how can it add value without crossing into operational territory?

In this practical and thought-provoking discussion, governance specialist David Fishel is joined by fundraising experts Frankie Airey and Nigel Harris to examine the board’s critical role in fundraising success.

Drawing on real experience from governance and fundraising practice, the session explores the strategic, ethical and practical considerations that shape effective board involvement.

Key Themes Explored

  • When board involvement genuinely strengthens fundraising

  • Maintaining clear boundaries between governance and management

  • Building a culture of philanthropy at board level

  • Getting the balance right between oversight and overreach

This special webinar forms part of our series marking the launch of the fourth edition of The Book of the Board, by David Fishel, Director of Positive Solutions. Widely regarded as Australia’s leading governance guide for non-profit organisations, the new edition includes expanded coverage of board leadership, strategy, culture, risk and the board’s role in fundraising.
